How do modern supply chains work—and how do linear value chains become circular, resilient, and resource-efficient networks?

This course provides a foundation in the functions and processes of corporate logistics and supply chain management. The focus is on the design, planning, and optimization of material, information, and financial flows, as well as the key functional areas of corporate logistics.

Topics covered include risk management, factory planning and operations, procurement, maintenance management, supply chain design, and supply chain finance. Circular supply chain management is a particular focus: Students learn how reuse, remanufacturing, recycling, and circular design can contribute to more efficient use of resources, reduce waste, and align environmental goals with economic objectives.

Using real-world examples and a case study conducted throughout the course, students apply and discuss the course content and relate it to current challenges in value creation networks.
