Field trip to Wilo
- 2026
- Lehrstuhlnews

The day began in the new Networking Cube, where representatives from the Global WATER AI Academy had prepared exclusive insights for us. Three engaging presentations covered the practical application of AI at Wilo, smart production planning for Wilo pumps, and forward-looking smart solutions and services. Here, the theory from the lecture directly addressed real-world industrial challenges.
After lunch together, the next highlight followed: a factory tour took us right into the heart of pump production, logistics, and final assembly. Particularly impressive was the seamless operation of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in live production. To wrap things up, we gained exciting insights into sustainability and the site’s gradual decarbonization through its own H2 PowerPlant for producing green hydrogen.
A huge thank you to the Wilogroup and the Global WATER AI Academy for the warm welcome, the excellent organization, and this inspiring day!
Special thanks for the presentations and on-site support to: Alexander Gebhard, Gabriel Zorn, Julia Liebetanz, and Christopher Rohloff
Accompaniment from the Chair of Enterprise Logistics (LFO): Tobias Schrage, Nick Große, Jonas Eichholz, and Lana Benkhoff
