The presented paper addresses key challenges in the introduction of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) into the logistics processes of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the core objective of FlexTools.
  • It highlights the complexity of decision making in buffer zones that needs to be automated for efficient AMR operations.
  • The introduction of the BRR problem underlines that AMR integration goes beyond pure navigation and that the optimization of warehouse processes is crucial.
  • The mathematical modeling and the discussion of the results demonstrate FlexTools' scientific approach and its engagement with practical challenges.

Participation in ICCL 2024 enabled a valuable exchange with other researchers and the presentation of FlexTools' current results. The presentation of the paper helped to make the project known to an international specialist audience and to demonstrate its contribution to solving current challenges in logistics. The conference also offered the opportunity to identify new research trends and find potential cooperation partners for the further development of FlexTools.
