Services of general interest make a key contribution to the supply of vital needs, especially in municipal regions. The coronavirus pandemic and other geopolitical events have put the adaptability and availability of municipal services of general interest to the test. Increasing digitalization, in particular the use of innovative key technologies such as artificial intelligence, is broadening the horizons of services of general interest. However, many service providers in municipal services of general interest are facing the challenge of meeting the new requirements.

Objective: Uniform structuring approach for categorizing the range of services offered by municipal companies providing services of general interest, taking into account the use of artificial intelligence.

Starting point: The starting point for this is a taxonomy determined in advance, which is to be expanded and validated for practical suitability in further iterations.

Method: Literature research, interview study to validate the taxonomy (expansion of the target group surveyed in the case of a master's thesis)
