Our Purchasing and Supply Management team at the science location in Dortmund was at the IPSERA conference in Rotterdam, one of the world's largest communities in the field of purchasing and supply management, from March 30 to April 2, 2025.

Prof. Michael Henke, Tobias Jornitz, Florian Paffrath, Julian Brinkmeyer and Matthias Braun presented their research findings on the procurement of open source software, organizational learning of the purchasing organization from crises and the use of artificial intelligence in purchasing. Researchers and purchasers were also presented with the results to date from the European EXPERTISE project on the training and further education of silver workers in procurement (employees over 50). By participating in this year's IPSERA Doctoral Workshop, we were also able to successfully present the progress of our dissertations and establish new networks.

Our former colleague Dennis Meyer, who successfully completed his doctorate, also presented his practitioner paper on the use of AI to compare supplier offers.

We had a varied exchange with the approximately 300 participants and look forward to the next research steps in purchasing and supply management.
